Remix3D.com is an online 3D art community that makes creating art accessible and available to anyone. It caters to novice and skilled creators alike. During my time on Remix, I designed the visual look and tone of the site with that promise in mind. I joined the team during the inception of the site. One of my first features was creating a landing experience for new users that gave them an introduction to what Remix 3D is, how to join the community, and why. This landing experience was first sent out to Microsoft Insiders and Microsoft employees. I lead design on several new features and assisted in the overall experience of the website.

Welcome To Remix3D

This landing page experience shows tells the user who we are. It has a quick video on what Remixing means and showing the lineage of the 3D model. When an artist creates a model, it can be shared with the community for other users to add to or reinvent. This is called remixing. I also designed a simple collection card treatment so users would feel oriented and familiar with the UI when the site launched. We also wanted to highlight top creators in the community and spotlight their work and specific voice. This encourages community engagement and involvement.

Dive A Little Deeper

This dashboard view is something only creators in the community would see. This expansive view gives the creator a deeper look into how their models are performing, which models are trending in the community, popularity trends, model lineage, chat functionality, and community feedback. This dashboard empowers creators to engage deeper with their 3D community and gives them control over how their work is shared and viewed.

Find Your Inspiration

The enhanced search experience lets users hone in and find exactly the type of model they want. It helps 3D creators find models that are compatible with their platform, refine by content, category, color, style, and recent uploads. Users can search through community picks and trending 3D objects as well. This robust search experience helps users find content that is more suited to their needs.

Blog About It

Something our users requested was a blog where the community could gather to deeper discuss their passion of 3D art, engage more naturally in the community, and post videos and tutorials about model creation. This blog spot was our answer to that question. Remix 3D is cross-platform and easily accessible from any device.
